How do you demonstrate cut-through quality in a complex market?
In 2023, the International Motor Show (IAA) in Munich recognized and include cargo bikes in their competitive categories.
At the time, the cargo bike market was facing headwinds, as government subsidised electric vans, and consumers steadily embraced only the most assured alternatives. With EAV, the team developed the prototype EAV2Cubed model - targeting the ability to lead in the cargo bike category and ultimately be the go-to choice competing with electric vans.
The IAA offered a chance to demonstrate superior design and build quality within the emergent cargo bike category - and shift the conversation away from in-category competition, and toward van-replacement. The team worked closely on the prototype, and entry into the competition.
Ultimately, the EAV2Cubed’s “seamless design, robust construction, and intuitive handling” was successful in winning EAV the International Cargo Bike of the Year award for 2023.
